Camber Sands

Rye

Once a Cinque Port, it’s an historic little town with picturesque lanes and old Tudor buildings. There is plenty to do including visiting Ypres Tower and spooky Ghost walks. You can climb to the top of the church and find a brilliant view of the whole town.

The shops are mainly small businesses that thrive on selling quirky things you won't find anywhere else. Indulge in the old fashioned sweet shops and enjoy skimming through vinyls at the Old School House Record Shop. Rye is also filled with antique shops and there is a market every Thursday that's perfect for anyone looking for a bargain.

There are some excellent places to eat and drink whether you are looking for locally caught fresh seafood, or a hearty pub meal you can easily find something for the whole family. Or if you fancy something quick there are plenty of fish 'n' chip shops to choose from.

Hastings

If you fancy visiting a large seaside town then Hastings is a 40 minute drive down the coast. It is full of things to do and has great entertainment for families. This includes The Aquarium, The Smugglers Adventure, Crazy Golf and Clambers Indoor Play Centre.

The Old Town of Hastings offers a wide arrange of shops amusement arcades, while the town centre offers a chance for some retail therapy with your usual high street shops.

If you travel a little further you can visit the site of The Battle of Hastings in the aptly named Battle, a delightful market town with the English Heritage site of Battle Abbey where King Harold’s' reign was ended in 1066.
